Dog Picture

Ever catch yourself watching your dog with a camera, trying to time a pose just right? If you’re like every other usual dog lover, taking pictures of your dog comes as second nature! Don’t worry though; you’re just like every other animal lover in the world. Pictures of dogs can not only be adorable and cute, but they will always bring a smile to your face, and a reminiscent memory back to mind. Even though pictures of your dog may be an awesome reminder of just how cute they are it can be a little difficult; hopefully this will help you to become a dog picture professional!

There are many different things that can help when taking photos of your dog. Always remember to feed your dog the right dog food, this will help keep your dog’s coat looking not only beautiful but healthy. One must always keep what dog supplies you are purchasing; different shampoos and conditioners can leave your dog’s coat dull and in return give your dog irritated and itchy skin!

You must consider if a flash from the camera will scare your dog. If you’re taking pictures of a puppy, the flash of a camera will more than likely frighten your pooch, and ruin every shot. Your best bet is to just turn your flash off, and take photos of your dog in good lighting.

Another thing to consider when taking photos of your dog, try to make your dog feel comfortable in front of the camera. Try to get down on their eye level before snapping a shot; an animal usually feels more comfortable if you’re down on their level, instead of standing over the animal. Even if you take a lot of pictures of your dog, this could give your dog time to get used to the odd device you’re sticking in its face!

You may want to also consider getting a lot of film, or if you’re using a digital camera – be ready to take lots and lots of pictures. No matter what subject you are taking pictures of, you will always need a lot of film; make sure you’re prepared for your pooch! You will find that dogs will NEVER stay still, they will be constantly moving and trying to get away from all the attention.

Most importantly, make sure you have fun with your dog! Have fun with the location you are shooting, play with the “scene,” and don’t be afraid to play a little! Get creative and take fun and unique pictures of your dog! When you’re having fun with your dog, it will look more natural then posing your dog and forcing them to stay in one place…

It may also help to have a little help with you, just in case your dog may be too much to handle in this type of situation. It wouldn’t hurt to have a friend or family member (someone the dog is familiar with) to stand and help out a bit!

So, with any luck you are now a dog picture professional! The main factors you need to focus on are making your dog feel comfortable; remember to keep your flash off so your dog doesn’t get scared during the picture. Make sure you’re prepared with a lot of film (or a memory card!), and you must have patience with your pooch, and the most important thing of all; have a good time with your dog! You are taking pictures of your dog for memory and for smiles – have fun with it!
